Craig is a Chartered Accountant with a career spanning more than 35 years, five with Ernst & Young. He has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Monash University, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand, the Governance Institute of Australia, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a registered tax agent and is the founder and principal of the Chartered Accounting and Consulting firm, The Tartan Group, established in 2006. It has been an innovator and market leader in the provision of virtual finance team, CFO and Company Secretarial services to start ups and SME through to small publicly listed entities.
Based on an outsourced model using cloud technology and giving clients access to highly qualified professional and commercial staff at a fraction of the FTE, Craig and The Tartan Group have supported and assisted Battery Stewardship Council Ltd to incorporate and establish systems, controls and structures to enable it to emerge as a strong, viable and sustainable venture to address the battery waste issue in Australia.
Prior to establishing The Tartan Group, Craig was Finance Director of a privately owned Private Equity firm, specifically focused on and responsible for the delivery of due diligence and support for the firm’s wholly owned investments and parent company through its in house finance team.
Craig has added value to numerous local and multinational organisations in both the public and private sectors and is a Board member to a select group of clean technology funds and not-for-profit organizations. Craig is a highly respected and successful leader and manager with exceptional professional, technical, commercial and interpersonal skills borne out of a long career at senior management level in a diverse range of companies.
Outside of his role as principal of The Tartan Group, Craig provides his professional experience to a number of not-for-profit and charitable institutions that he has a personal interest in and passion for on a pro-bono basis. He is passionate about clean technology, recycling, his cultural heritage and the future of our community.
